Caring for Customer



We in corporate world care for customer experience and we talk about it all the time. But how many times do we really cater on our own without being made accountable or having that as our action item? 2 days back when I took the Smartbus (public transport in Detroit metro area) to work ,I told the driver that there is a stop near my office which he could not see as there was another bus laying over there. Also I mentioned to him that it is not a problem for me since I can walk one block without any problem. This being new route may be he was not sure. He asked me to remind me next time. Next day I requested and went to inform the driver. He said he figured it out that there is indeed a stop for this route and he stopped. I was amazed that he kept that conversation in mind and looked for it in his next trip and helped the customer next day . I am sure nobody in his organization has asked him or appreciated him for this extra step. That is what we need when we serve ourselves or customers. I hope that we all will be more caring in the new year..
